Modeling and Verification of Identity Authentication Protocols in Cloud-Edge-End Power System

The digital transformation of power systems, leveraging cloud-edge-end architectures, is key to smart industry evolution. However, escalating security threats highlight the urgent need for rigorous identity authentication protocol verification. The growing traffic and user expectations necessitate real-time, lightweight authentication solutions, prompting the creation of innovative security measures. In this paper, we employ formal methods to rigorously assess novel security protocols within power system's cloud-edge-end architecture, focusing on their correctness and security. It begins with a thorough analysis of the architecture's constituents: edge computing resources, devices, and network connections. A formal approach utilizing High-Level Protocol Specification Language (HLPSL) is then introduced to detail the new identity authentication protocol, addressing access control, authentication, and encryption. The protocol undergoes formal verification via AVISPA, employing model checking to confirm adherence to specific security properties. This process aids in uncovering potential risks and vulnerabilities, reinforcing the power system's security. The thorough validation of the protocol's security attributes guarantees its capability to meet the evolving security requirements of the cloud-edge-end environment, fortifying system resilience amidst ongoing digital advancements and cybersecurity threats.
