3D-printed WR3 Band Photonic Crystal Resonator for Biosensing Applications

In this work, a photonic crystal (PhC) resonator for biosensing applications is designed for the WR3 band and 3D printed using lithography-based ceramic manufacturing (LCM). The structure comprises periodic rectangular holes optimized for the 3D printing process and a slot in the resonator to enhance its sensitivity. The resonator exhibits a high printing quality, a high Q-factor of 1433, and a high sensitivity of 50 MHz/µg working at 285.5 GHz.
