Cuk Converter for PFC Based LED Driver

This paper deals with the study of power factor correction (PFC) based cuk converter as a LED driver for 27W of LED with implementation of dimming features in the system. The LED driver is simulated in MATLAB environment with control strategy implemented for achieving the constant power across the LED. The source side parameter is controlled as per IEC61000-3-2:2018. The LED side voltage and current is sensed to achieve the power absorbed by the LED and it is compared with light dependent resistor (LDR) for dimming feature in the system. The LDR provides the set point to the control strategy of the converter to operate as per availability of the day light. At every set point by the LDR, Cuk converter ensures the THD and power factor at source terminals within the limit.
