Optimized Design and Simulation of Substation Earthing System on Non-Uniform Soil

This study presents a grounding system designed for an extra high-voltage (EHV) substation situated on non uniform soil. The main objective of the proposed model is to create a robust grounding system that maintains safe and dependable operation in variable soil conditions. To accomplish this, the researchers examined the non-uniform soil at the substation location using a dual-layer soil model to assess soil resistivity. Subsequently, the obtained resistivity data were utilized to construct and test the grounding system using ETAP™ software. The researchers then evaluated the simulation outcomes and offered suggestions for an ideal grounding design.
