Two-Port Elliptical Shaped Monopole MIMO Antenna Array with High Isolation using DGS Technique

A compact and symmetrical monopole antenna with an elliptical-shaped patch is initially designed. The designed monopole antenna is further converted into two-port MIMO type with small edge-to-edge distance of 0.14 lambda. The overall size of the proposed two-port MIMO antenna is $60 \mathrm{~mm} \times 30 \mathrm{~mm} \times 0.9 \mathrm{~mm}$. The proposed antenna operates in the n78 (3.3-3.8 GHz) 5G band. Defected Ground Structure (DGS) technique is used to enhance the port-to-port isolation between two antenna elements. The isolation remain $\gt22 \mathrm{~dB}$ over the entire band of operation with $\mathbf{- 3 6. 8 d B}$ of peak isolation.
