Design, Simulation and Stability Analysis of a MMIC Based W-Band Medium Power Amplifier

High power amplifier design always requires a detailed analysis of output power matching and stability. The goal is to design an amplifier that is stable under all operating conditions along with a medium power output at W-Band. This paper describes the design of a W-band GaAs Medium Power Amplifier MMIC and the simulation study on stability analysis and matching networks. The amplifier is designed to operate with an output power of 20 dBm and a gain of $10-11 \mathrm{~dB}$ in the frequency range of 88 to 96 GHz. The input and output power combining techniques along with even and odd mode stability analysis have been discussed.
