A Day-Ahead Optimal Operation of Hydropower-Wind-solar Complementary System Considering Forbidden Zone

Hydropower has the advantage of quickly responding to load changes, which allows it to smooth out the instability of photovoltaic and wind power outputs. This capability enables the formation of power generation system consisting of hydropower, wind power, and photovoltaics. To address the nonlinear characteristics of the vibration zones in hydropower units, a linear interpolation approximation based on gridding and triangulation was employed, and the impact of crossing the forbidden zones was considered. Case simulations show that the model reduces the risk of units crossing the forbidden zones, increases day-ahead market profits, and ensures safe and stable system operation.
