Low Complexity Fourier Transform Based Fast Detection Scheme for Massive MIMO

Massive MIMO (m-MIMO) is crucial for 5G and beyond 5G/6G V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communications due to its ability to cancel interference and enhance performance. However, V2X communication requires fast and low-complexity operations, presenting a challenge in computational complexity. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces a low-complexity Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) based Zero Forcing (FTZF) detector for m-MIMO systems. By using FFT, the need to compute and invert the Gram matrix directly is eliminated. Simulation results show the proposed detector achieving near-ZF Bit Error Rate (BER) compared to other iterative detectors with comparatively lesser complexity. The BER converges to the ZF detector in fewer iterations compared to the other detectors, outperforming them in both performance and complexity.
