A Novel Speed Measurement Algorithm Based on Linear Extended State Observer for Segmented Linear Induction Motors with Cooperative Control

In this paper, a novel speed measurement algorithm based on linear extended state observer (LESO) and thrust cooperative control is proposed to improve the thrust performance of the linear induction motor (LIM). According to the thrust calculation value and linear motion equation of the segmented LIM, a LESO is constructed. Since the thrust fluctuation during the secondary crossing primary segments will affect the precision of the LESO, thrust cooperative control strategy for multiple inverters is applied. Finally, a comparative experiment between the proposed algorithm and the tracking differentiator (TD) were conducted in the LIM platform. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a better real-time performance compared with conventional TD algorithm.
