Research on scour mechanism of submarine cable routing in Qiongzhou Strait

Submarine cable is the main channel for cross-regional energy exchange and offshore wind power delivery, and is an important part of the energy Internet. In this paper, the topographic characteristics of submarine cable routing in Hainan network system, hydrology along submarine cable routing, erosion mechanism research, and submarine cable damage caused by erosion are studied, and it is concluded that the factors affecting the erosion of submarine cable routing are ocean current velocity, bottom quality, and submarine topography. The research results of this paper can provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent anti-erosion protection measures of submarine cables in Hainan network system.
