Design of a Chaotic Carrier Frequency Modulation Switched-Mode Power Supply Controller Based on FPGA

An FPGA-based controller that employs Chaotic Digital Pulse Width Modulation(CDPWM) is proposed to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) in Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). Utilizing the Tent map to generate a chaotic sequence, the proposed system modulates the switching frequency, resulting in a more uniform energy spectrum and reduced EMI. The effectiveness of the CCFM technique is validated through theoretical analysis and experimental results, which show significant EMI reduction. The study demonstrates the potential of digital chaotic frequency modulation in enhancing the performance and regulatory compliance of SMPS.
