Tractable Generalized THz Channel Modeling Under Pointing Errors

Terahertz (THz) communication is emerging as a key technology for future wireless systems due to its potential for ultra-high data rates and abundant bandwidth. However, THz communication faces significant challenges, including severe path loss, atmospheric absorption, and high sensitivity to misalignment and pointing errors. To address these challenges, this paper presents a comprehensive and tractable model for THz channel characterization under pointing errors. We derive closed-form expressions for the probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the channel, as well as key performance metrics such as outage probability, symbol error rate, and channel capacity. Our analytical results are validated through simulations, demonstrating superior accuracy and generality compared to existing models. This work provides a robust framework for performance analysis and system design of THz communication systems, highlighting the critical role of accurate channel modeling in achieving reliable and efficient THz links.
