Design evaluation and optimization of thermos cups based on analytic hierarchy process

This article mainly applies the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate and optimize the design schemes of four types of thermos cups that are well-selling on a certain e-commerce platform, to provide reference for consumers during their purchasing decisions. First, quantitative evaluation principles were adopted to select basic indicators for choosing thermos cup designs from three aspects: economy, appearance, and functionality. Then, AHP was used to conduct a comprehensive quantitative evaluation of the selected four thermos cup design schemes, establishing a corresponding quantitative comparison matrix. The Step-real AHP Software was utilized to analyze and compute the data, resulting in the maximum eigenvalue and eigenvector of the quantitative comparison matrix, followed by a consistency test. Finally, based on the results of the consistency test, the quantitative evaluation data for the selected four thermos cup designs were optimized. The results of this study provide, to some extent, optimal quantitative indicators for consumers when purchasing thermos cups, reducing the randomness of the selection process and offering a useful reference for future evaluations of related product designs.
