Advanced Healthcare System Design: Integrating IoT-Enabled Automated Medicine Dispensers and Wearable Devices for Enhanced Patient Care

This research work presents the concept, implementation and testing of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in day-to-day life. The concept present in this manuscript finds applications for an elderly person who needs medical assistance in the form of reminders for medicine and whose general health conditions need to be monitored at intervals in the absence of working children. The proposed system consists of a daily wearable ID-card lanyard and a medicine dispensing module. The ID-Card lanyard is equipped with sensor/s to measure temperature and humidity, besides a heartbeat monitoring systemMLX90614ESF. The sensor for monitoring vitals is integrated in micro controller ESP232.lt is also integrated with a buzzer that alerts the person regarding the medicine. A medicine dispensing box is an IoT model used to dispense pre-scheduled pills and required quantities of water via a chip for DC motor driver L298N. An acknowledgement is sent to the intended person after this. The sensor readings and IoT Module controls are displayed on the website that can be accessed remotely. During the research work various sensors were tested to determine the compatibility and practicality for the daily wearable. The results indicate efficacy of the tested sensors, to determine the ideal sensors which could be implemented for smooth implementation of proposed work. The combination of monitoring health parameters and medicine dispenser is our contribution in this work.
