Research on Modeling and Control of Levitating Sphere System Based on Virtual Prototype

The magnetic levitation system has a wide application background in industry, transportation and other fields. But the system is more complex and has strong nonlinear. The suspension sphere system is a simplified model of magnetic levitation system, so deepening the understanding of the suspension sphere system is of great help to the study of magnetic levitation system. In order to advance the understanding of levitating sphere systems, this study employs the creation of virtual prototypes to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of the system. Firstly, an exhaustive analysis of the entire system is undertaken, leading to the formulation of a mathematical model which then undergoes a process of linearization. Leveraging virtual prototype technology, the subsequent phase includes the precise modeling of the levitating sphere system. A co-simulation is executed in SIMULINK thereafter, and build a sliding mode control law to manage the levitation gap within the system. Finally, the study concludes by juxtaposing the newly designed strategy with a traditional PID control, conducting a critical analysis of both the feasibility and efficacy of the implemented control strategy. The results show that compared with the system using PID control, the system using sliding mode control can reach the set suspension position faster, so the response speed is faster, and the system can return to the equilibrium position faster after interference, so the anti-interference ability is strong.
