EV Charging Framework: Enhancing Urban Charging Infrastructure with SOC and Emergency Prioritization

Aiming at the current scenario, there is an upward trend in the market share of electric vehicles in the global transportation sector. For EV users, charging station scheduling is a must, as users' needs should be considered along with various factors that will initialize the priority for charging in a station. Based on the day-ahead scheduling strategy, a distributed charging scheme is proposed along with priority for emergency vehicles. While scheduling EVs, the State of Charge (SOC) and distance between stations in a typical urban area have been taken into consideration. Also, a well-planned shifting of EVs in between slots and to nearby charging stations is introduced here. Day-ahead user can easily book their slot as they prefer. However, in case of an emergency in real time a day-ahead user will be shifted to another free slot from that day. Also, the paper introduces a priority among emergency vehicles. Here the system is developed using exploratory data analysis (EDA), which is done by fundamental Python (Pandas library).
