Development of IoT Based Smart System and Data Acquisition for Patient Monitoring

In today's busy lifestyle of people it is difficult to maintain health and keep track of patient's health related issues. This problem gets further difficult due to low doctors to patients' ratio in the under-developed countries. However, the advancement in the field of ICT has brought smartness to the medical field. The Internet of Things is rapidly transforming medical technology and famously known as Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). Therefore, in this research work an IoT based smart and cost-effective patient monitoring system has been developed. The vital signs of the patient such as temperature, heart rate, and oxygen level have been measured through sensors and provided at the ESP-32, an internet enabled microcontroller. The acquired data will be transmitted through internet to the gateway and a dashboard is designed using the MQTT protocol for its visualization purpose.
