Design and Implementation of High-speed and High-precision CORDIC Algorithm

For the traditional coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) algorithm in the implementation of trigonometric function calculation there are problems of low output accuracy and long output delay, a low-latency CORDIC algorithm using the greedy algorithm to eliminate redundant iterations is proposed, which analyses the concomitantly induced unfixed scaling factor, and corrects the scaling factor by using binary decomposition, which ensures the computational Accuracy. The simulation analysis is carried out in MATLAB, and the implementation and verification are carried out on field programmable gate array (FPGA); the results show that, for example, with 32-bit output, the average number of iterations in the calculation of trigonometric functions has been reduced by 65.6%, and the average accuracy of the calculation results reaches 3.46E-11, so the algorithm has potential application value in digital signal processing systems with high real-time and high accuracy requirements.
