UNNATI: Enhancing Quality Education in Rural Areas through AI, AR & digitalization

Quality and accessible education is a basic human right. Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) declares that everyone has the right to proper and excellent education. It plays an integral part in an individual’s empowerment, economic as well as social progress. However, the educational system in rural areas is still in developing and deprived state. It leads to a significant disparity in terms of accessing standard education and available opportunities as compared to urban regions. Despite several global efforts, statistical data reveals a huge difference in the quality of education and opportunities between urban and rural regions. Hence, our paper presents an innovative approach to enhance the overall quality of education and provide practical learnings and opportunities in rural areas. The proposed solution leverages AI, Augmented reality (AR) and digitalization to enhance hands-on and interactive learning experiences for the rural students. It also uses Augmented Reality (AR) to address issues like agricultural education, an important aspect of rural life.
