Artificial Intelligence based Plant Disease Detection System

Many problems like inadequate storage conditions, unfavourable market conditions, sudden weather changes etc. pose a serious challenge to global food security. One of the major problems contributing to the same is plant diseases. This indicates that to minimise crop loss a rapid and accurate diagnosis is called for but such strategies entail the use of traditional methods which are elaborate and often inaccurate. The plant disease detection and diagnosis system use a convolutional neural network (CNN) which has been trained on a large set of images of plant’s leaves to provide accurate diagnosis of $\mathbf{3 7}$ diseases taken of Mango, Tomato and Potato plants. This research discusses how the system was developed and optimised on the methods of farming.
