A Modified Incremental Conductance based MPPT method for LLC Converter in PV Systems

LLC resonant converters have the advantage of soft switching due to the zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on of the switches, which makes them suitable for PV applications. To implement maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for resonant converters a frequency based MPPT method must be implemented. This paper presents a proposed MPPT method based on the incremental conductance (INC) method. This method uses a strategy based on impedance matching theory to obtain the initial point of the MPPT. After determining the initial point, the INC algorithm initiates and finds the maximum power point (MPP). By using this method fast and accurate MPPT is executable. At the end simulation results are presented to verify the proposed method.
