Power to X: A Carbon-Neutrality for Coming World

Presently, the world of research is focusing on the sustainable energy technologies to get a pure weather where is no threat of climate change present. For the power plant prospects, renewable energy sources for power generation are such examples. However, renewable energy sources are still producing emission on the environment; to reduce this emissions carbon capture technology is used. Carbon capture technology not only captures carbon from the environment, it also helps in producing different valuable products. Therefore, this paper investigates the performance of a proposed new ethanol plant incorporating with an existing wind power plant. For the inputs CO2, an average emission on the environment from the wind power plant is considered. Moreover, an investigation of all the individual components has been done. Here, the authors have found that the power-to-ethanol synthesis is the best solution to utilize the unhelpful CO2 during peak hours. The paper concluded that the power-to- ethanol technology incorporated with the carbon capture technology can balance out the emissions produced by the windpower plant to the environment.
