An Optimized Full Adder Utilizing a Three-Input XOR Gate in QCA Technology

Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) offer a potential solution for building ultra-small circuits, surpassing the limitations of traditional CMOS technology. Exclusive OR gate serves as a popularly used component in circuit design. This research presents an innovative three-input XOR gate with enhanced performance. The XOR gate with 3 input design consists of nine cells. To see the efficiency with minimum number of cell in XOR gate, a full adder has been designed which consist of 13 cells. Performance analysis and simulation of the XOR gate and full adder under consideration is done by the QCADesignerE. Newly designed full adder is compared with few more existing designs. The result shows that the XOR gate having 3 input and a full adder circuit introduced here performs better in QCA technology in terms area, number of cells and efficiency.
