Design of Acoustic 4×2 Encoder Using Phononic Crystal Based Single Ring Resonator

This paper proposes a unique design for a 4×2 encoder using a 2D phononic crystal ring resonator. The suggested encoder structure is based on acoustic waveguides and a crystal ring resonator cavity that operates at a single frequency of 45.1 kHz. The two-dimensional structure is realized in the square lattice with a rectangular mercury base and cylindrical water rods. The design is supported by performance factors such as amplitude modulation, contrast ratio and extinction ratio. Comsol Multiphysics is used for all the linked design and simulation processes. The design may be essential in phononic integrated circuits used in undersea and medical applications.
