Triple Phase Ratio Shift Control for Bidirectional Wireless Power Transfer Application Based on Totem-Pole Single-Stage AC-AC Converter

The traditional bidirectional wireless power transfer (BWPT) system typically utilizes a power factor correction (PFC) converter cascaded with an inverter on the transmitter side. Due to its complex structure and the large number of switching devices, researchers have proposed replacing the two-stage converter with a single-stage solution. However, current single-stage systems face challenges in bidirectional energy transfer, Zero voltage switching (ZVS) realization, and efficiency enhancement. This article introduces a triple phase ratio shift control strategy for a totem-pole single-stage ac–ac converter within the BWPT system. The proposed approach not only achieves PFC functionality, but also regulates system power by adjusting the external phase shift ratio. Additionally, it maintains a wide range of ZVS conditions on the transmitter-side converter. The ultimate goal is to optimize the BWPT system by reducing size, lowering cost, and improving efficiency.
