Range-Velocity Deception Jamming Based on 4-D Antenna Arrays

A novel range-velocity deception jamming approach with two types of time modulation strategies based on four-dimensional (4-D) antenna arrays is proposed. The expression for the jamming signal under two types of time modulation strategies in the fast/slow time domain is first deduced and analyzed. Moreover, the mathematical model of the amplitude distribution of the real/false target is established using two-dimensional fast Fourier transform (2-D FFT). The proposed approach demonstrates excellent range-velocity deception jamming performance through simulations of linear frequency modulation pulse signals transmitted by 4-D antenna arrays. Finally, an S-band 16-element 4-D dipole array is fabricated and measured. Experimental results in terms of the range-velocity deception jamming agree well with the numerical results, thereby verifying the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
