Establishment of Evaluation Indexes for Robotic-Assisted Epiphyseal Bar Resection Surgery Utilizing the AHP-EM Approach

In order to thoroughly assess the efficacy of robotic-assisted epiphyseal plate bar resection surgery, it is essential to consider the distinct characteristics of various surgical phases, as well as both clinical and robotic considerations. This study proposes an innovative evaluation index system and methodology for robotic-assisted epiphyseal plate bar surgery, which is grounded in the principles of human-robot collaboration throughout different surgical stages. The weight of each indicator is determined through a hybrid approach that integrates the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with entropy methods (EM). Simulation results reveal that our proposed method aligns closely with the scoring trends observed in traditional epiphyseal plate bar resection surgery. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the scores derived from our method and those from traditional methods reaches an impressive 0.996, confirming the validity of our evaluation system for robotic-assisted procedures. Furthermore, our method offers a heightened ability to discern nuanced differences among the surgical stages when compared to traditional evaluation techniques.
