Multi-Feed Multi-Layer In-Antenna Power Combining Approach

This article presents a multi-feed in-antenna combining antenna for base station applications. The proposed design utilizes a vertically interleaved microstrip line coupled into a patch antenna. Two four-feeds $0.17 \lambda$ slots are interleaved at 28 GHz frequency and bandwidth of $\approx 2.4 \mathrm{GHz}$. The proposed design provided 97% radiation efficiency and $50 \Omega$ impedance matching over the 27 GHz to 29.4 GHz while it is offering an 8 -port power combining network. The proposed design has 6 dBi directivity with LHCP/RHCP polarizations.
