Vibration Prediction Based on Hybrid Model of Surface-Mounted PMSM Considering Different Topologies and Tooth Modulation

This paper proposes a hybrid model for electromagnetic (EM) vibration prediction of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) by combining analytical model and numerical model, which can achieve fast and accurate vibration calculation for various surface-mounted topologies. First, based on the subdomain method, the analytical models of air-gap flux density (AGFD) of various complex topologies are extended. In particular, the AGFD of the three-dimensional skewed topology is simplified. Subsequently, an EM force conversion model is proposed, which takes into account the tooth modulation effect and converts the original air-gap force density into tooth force and moment. Then, a coupling model of tooth force and moment including frequency domain format is proposed to connect the analytical model and the numerical model. The main function of the coupling model is to apply force and moment to the numerical model. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed hybrid model is verified by vibration test.
