Hybrid Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter Modulation Strategy Based on APOD-PWM

This paper proposes an innovative modulation strategy based on APOD-PWM technology for a hybrid cascaded H-bridge inverter with a DC-side voltage ratio of 2:1:1. The strategy solves the problems of current backflow and power imbalance in traditional methods through precise calculation and switching state optimization. In specific modulation intervals, it ensures equal conduction time for the low-voltage units, achieving power balance, and optimizes the output voltage harmonic characteristics, enhancing power quality. Simulations and experiments show that this strategy significantly reduces current backflow and lowers harmonic distortion, providing a new approach for modulation optimization of cascaded H-bridge inverters, with practical application value.
