Unit Commitment Considering Load-side Inertia and Failure Probability

This article aims to ensure frequency safety and improve economic efficiency by considering the uncertainty of load-side inertia and occasional faults in unit commitment with dynamic frequency constraints. Firstly, a system frequency response model considering load-side inertia is derived, and a probabilistic model of occasional faults was established. Secondly, a unit commitment model with dynamic frequency constraints is established through fuzzy chance constraints and two-stage robust optimization. The test cases demonstrate that considering the load-side inertia can reduce system scheduling costs. Compared to the scenario where the largest generation unit is out of operation, the proposed unit commitment model, which accounts for the probability of unit failure shows better economic performance.
