AA-COMT: An AI-Driven AR System for Communication Operation and Maintenance Training

Traditional communication operation and maintenance training (COMT) in power grids follows a unified lecture-tutorial mode. Despite the detailed teaching contents, it is of limited interactivity and authenticity. Augmented reality (AR) is to enhance interactivity and engagement but suffers from poor adaptation to dynamic scenarios, limited flexibility, etc. In this paper, we combine artificial intelligence with AR to realize 3D modeling, dynamic scene understanding, and flexible human-computer interaction, named AA-COMT. Through virtualizing various training contents to AR, the designed and built system effectively improves training immersion and authenticity, ensuring high-quality communication operation and maintenance training. More importantly, AA-COMT is highly applicable to other scenarios by revising training content.
