FPV Camera Technology Provides a Nutrition Service Robot System for Patients Suffering from Infection

The rise of infectious diseases has heightened the demand for technology that reduces direct contact between healthcare professionals and patients. This study seeks to develop a food delivery robot system that employs First-Person View (FPV) camera technology to improve the safety of medical personnel and patients. This device is engineered to remotely deliver sustenance to infected persons in isolation rooms, hence mitigating the risk of viral transmission. The FPV camera enables the operator to oversee and guide the robot's movements in real-time from a distance, assuring accurate navigation and secure delivery. This robot features a control system linked to a wireless network, facilitating operational versatility in a medical setting. The robot features three velocity settings: 0.25 m/s (level 1), 0.34 m/s (level 2), and 0.43 m/s (level 3). Measurement results indicate that the battery capacity enables the robot to operate for 2 hours. The measured average static speeds are 2.367 m/s for level 1, 2.460 m/s for level 2, and 2.668 m/s for level 3 at 1.2 m/s. Research findings demonstrate that food delivery robots outfitted with FPV cameras can diminish the risk of infection transmission and improve operational efficiency in healthcare environments.
