Vector Mixer Characterization with True Calibration Kit Parameters

This paper presents the use of non-ideal calibration kits to enhance calibration accuracy, with a particular focus on Vector Mixer Calibration techniq ues. We present the true param-eters of load in the calibration kit, replacing the assumption of an ideal load. This approach reduces the residual error by utilizing a comprehensive Short-Open-Load (SOL) calibration equation. The Vector Mixer Calibration technique characterizes the parameters of mixer-filter combinations that meet the reciprocal condition using the reflection method. Incorporating the real parameters of the load during the calibration process improves the accuracy of cali-bration mixer characterization. Measurement results confirm that the proposed calibration method achieves high accuracy in mixer measurements.
