Application of Whale Optimization Algorithm Based on Sine Chaotic Mapping in Optimising Travel Experience

With the rapid development of the tourism industry, tourists’ requirements for travel experiences are constantly improving, especially foreign tourists who show great interest in the attractiveness of Chinese cities. In order to optimise travel experiences, this paper proposes a whale optimisation algorithm based on Sine chaotic mapping (SineWOA) to plan the best travel routes for tourists. The research identifies the tourism resources and attractiveness of each city by comprehensively evaluating 50 major tourist cities in China using grey relational analysis. A mixed-integer programming model was constructed to optimise the tourist route, enabling tourists to efficiently experience high-quality attractions within a limited time of 144 hours. The research results show that the SineWOA algorithm not only improves the efficiency of tourist route planning, but also enhances the algorithm’s ability in global search, avoiding the situation of getting stuck in a local optimum. The optimal tourist route finally obtained takes into account both travel time and play time, providing an important reference for the development of urban tourism.
