Antenna Designing Using Microstrip Technology for Anti Drone System

In this paper, a compact array triangular microstrip patch antenna design is proposed for C-band applications, as it is necessary to deploy an anti-drone system in the sensitive area to detect, locate, and defend against intruding drones. The proposed antenna is a high gain antenna with overall dimension of $0.45 \lambda\ \mathbf{x} 0.39 \lambda \ \mathrm{x}\ 0.03\ \lambda$ where $\lambda$ is the operating wavelength. A gain of 5.5 dBi and 10.4 dBi is achieved by increasing the number of triangular radiating array of patches along with variation in material of substrate. The design of two different types of array antenna the linear two-element triangular array and the adjacent compact four-element triangular array has been discussed. The antenna structure is simulated using HFSS ver. 2022, measured using Anritsu Vector Network Analyzer and anechoic chamber, the simulated and measured results are in good concurrence. The antenna is suitable for radar and anti-drone system applications.
