Development and Optimization of a Facial Recognition-Based Door Unlocking System Using Python and OpenCV

Door unlocking systems play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our homes. Traditional systems typically require a physical key, password, or biometric input to unlock the door, which can be lost, stolen, or shared. Facial recognition technology offers a secure and convenient alternative, using the unique characteristics of a person’s face as a key. This project aims to develop a reliable, fast, and accurate door-unlocking system utilizing facial recognition. The system will use a camera to capture an image of the user’s face and compare it with pre-registered images stored in a database. The software development will be carried out using Python and OpenCV libraries.
