Smart Systems for Effective Garbage Handling in Urban Waste Management

The amount of waste produced in metropolitan areas has significantly increased as a result of urbanization and population growth. For municipal corporations, effectively managing solid waste is now recognized as a major concern. The volume of garbage produced in cities keeps on growing, making conventional garbage collection systems inadequate. In this study, we describe an intelligent solution that maximizes urban garbage disposal and collection. This method improves the effectiveness of garbage collection and disposal by utilizing contemporary technology like cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). When the level of waste reaches a predetermined level, an ultrasonic sensor is used to detect it, and authorized individuals are instructed to empty the garbage bin. Implementing a web application, the garbage level may be tracked and controlled in real time during the collection operation, as may the GPS location of the bin, which is acquired by GPS modules. This innovative method aims at minimizing time and money by decreasing unnecessary visits to half-full garbage cans, all the while promoting a cleaner and healthier environment. The proposed approach is innovative and efficient in terms of waste management.
