Analysis of System Capability Generation Based on Functional Dependency Networks

Developing practical and efficient weapon systems requires reliance on system capability assessment methods. Existing assessment methods have limitations in quantitatively analyzing the complex dependencies among units within the system and their impact on system capability generation. This paper analyzes the complex dependencies within weapon systems based on DoDAF and constructs a mapping relationship among units, functions, and capabilities. Furthermore, it introduces Functional Dependency Network Analysis (FDNA) to improve and refine the effectiveness aggregation model among units, functions, and capabilities. Taking MAV/UAV combat system(MAV/UAV CS) as an example, this study examines the impact of factors such as standard conditions, variations in unit operational levels, increases or decreases in units, and communication link degradation on system capability generation. The research findings provide a new perspective for the assessment and future development of equipment systems.
