High Voltage-Gain Non-Isolated DC-to-DC Converter Design for Microinverter Applications

This article introduces a non-isolated DC-to-DC converter designed for microinverter applications, targeting operation within a wide range of input voltages. The aim is to enhance solar energy utilisation in regions with low solar irradiance by integrating micro inverters with solar panels. With voltage gains ranging from 15 to 28-fold, achievable under duty cycles of 40% to 60%, this converter can serve as a crucial component for enhancing the performance of solar energy systems in challenging environments. The proposed converter topology acts as an intermediary between photovoltaic systems and the utility grid or local loads, thereby facilitating the seamless integration of renewable energy sources and amplifying their impact on a global scale.
