5G-Advanced Infrastructure for Smart Energy: Converging Technologies and Management

The Smart Grid energy system continuously evolves, becoming more complex and sophisticated. We present innovative concept Energy Internet based on converging communication technologies and interoperability. Our focus is recent 3GPP standardization activities and study on Smart Energy infrastructure. 5G-Advanced mobile networks offer perfect solution for connectivity, compute, storage and native ML/AI support for distributed management systems. Deployment of emerging Smart Energy services and evolving 5G network infrastructure as virtualized software architecture across edge-to-cloud compute-storage resources is analyzed.
