Low Scale Semi-Automatic Process for the Assembly of SMD Components in Printed Circuit Boards

This paper presents an innovative and fast process for the assembly of surface mounted devices (SMD) in printed circuit boards (PCBs). The methodology described in this work was applied in the assembly of PCBs that will be used to process the voltage signals coming from Wheatstone bridge circuits that measure the strain signals of a force-torque sensor. The main contributions of this paper relies on the fact that the whole process is presented in a clear and simple way, and this can motivate and help potential users, in the design and assembly of PCBs for their own applications.
