Abstract:
We proposed new methods of switching 3D images using projectors for moving images on an arc 3D display. An arc 3D display is a 3D display method that uses directional scattering of light generated by arc-shaped scratches on a substrate, but rewriting the displayed 3D images is difficult by conventional arc 3D displays. In this study, we proposed a method of switching the 3D images by selectively illuminating the arc-shaped scratches using a projector. In order to present arbitrary 3D images, we also proposed a method of displaying multiple depths by arranging the arc-shaped scratches in a grid pattern and illuminating them at different angles using multiple projectors. Furthermore, we proposed a method to avoid intersections of arc-shaped scratches by using Fresnel-type scratches, and proposed an optimal pixel arrangement for this method, and confirmed its effectiveness.
