Detection of Low-Frequency Vibration Using Fiber Bragg Grating Interrogation System

Vibration modes analysis is commonly used to detect the defects of mechanical devices, especially for the low-frequency vibration mode spectrum. The low-frequency mode is hard to detect by electro-mechanical detectors due to its limited sensitivity to low-frequency vibration. Thus, we developed a method using the Fiber Bragg grating sensor to detect the low-frequency vibration related to the operation of a motorcycle engine.
