APP Design of Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Affective Theory

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Chinese medicine has greatly increased its international recognition for its excellent efficacy, bringing opportunities for the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. How to disseminate Chinese medicine culture in daily, regular, and trendy ways needs to be addressed. Based on the theory of emotionality and the medium of smartphone APPs, we analyzed the needs of users for Chinese medicine Apps at the instinctive, behavioral, and reflective levels. A mechanism was constructed for the design of Chinese medicine apps to meet the needs of users. A literature review and interviews were conducted to construct an indicator system based on affective theory. The Delphi method was used to collect the opinions of 20 experts, and statistical analysis was used to analyze the data from the questionnaire survey. The bounded-value method and the exploratory factor analysis method were also used to extract the indicators. 11 indicators in the instinctive dimension, 13 indicators in the behavioral dimension, and seven indicators in the reflective dimension were determined. Through a preliminary exploration of the evaluation of the APP design based on affective theory, a gap in existing research was filled to provide a theoretical basis for the APP for traditional Chinese medicine.
