Enhancement of Mazaya Social Housing Program Using Application Programming Interface Integration

In this paper, we examine the challenges faced by social housing applicants and beneficiaries in Bahrain since it was initiated. To achieve this objective, we have conducted a survey and several interviews. The results show a significant need for a comprehensive integration among Mazaya's major stakeholders. Lengthy application procedures and limited access to extensive information for beneficiaries were highlighted as the main challenges of the current scheme. The results also highlight the areas that can be improved by utilizing a proposed mobile application, leveraging open-finance technologies to streamline mortgage processing, and enhancing the overall user experience.
