Pattern Recognition for Uterine Fibroid Detection

Pattern recognition plays a significant role in the detection of uterine fibroids through various medical imaging modalities such as ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT) scans. Ultrasound imaging helps identify hypoechoic masses within the uterine muscle layer, while MRI provides detailed images showing well-defined masses with characteristic signal intensities on Tl-weighted and T2-weighted sequences. CT imaging, though less common, is used to detect fibroids based on hypodense masses within the uterus or pelvic cavity.
