Energy-Efficient Alarm Clock Operator: A Comparative Analysis of Artix-7 and Kintex FPGA Families

Several emerging nations are now experiencing a massive energy crisis. As an alternative, a team of scientists and engineers has developed an Alarm Clock operator that uses less resources by combining the Xilinx Vivado program with several FPGA generations. By highlighting eco-friendly communication technology, this invention enhances SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). We tested and compared two separate families of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)-Artix-7 and Kintex-to find out which one provides the most power savings. By comparison, the Artix-7 family used 0.967 Watts of electricity, whereas the Kintex family used only 0.683 Watts, demonstrating the superior energy efficiency of the Kintex family. Additionally, while comparing temperatures, it was found that the Artix-7 family works at 32.4 degrees Celsius, but the Kintex family runs colder at 26.4 degrees Celsius. This research found that the Kintex family of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) shows better energy efficiency, which helps with Responsible Consumption and Production by being less energy hungry. Embracing this approach will help us achieve sustainable development objectives by preserving energy for later use. Even while the Kintex board isn't quite as cheap as the Artix-7 computer, it does provide a practical way to make technology more energy efficient, which is in line with Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
