Developing Timer System as an Energy-Efficient Solution

With the increasing global concern over energy wastage, electricity conservation has become a critical issue. This paper addresses this challenge by presenting the solution as a arduino-based timer system for home appliances. The system allows users to preset the operational time for any home appliance with a focus on its application. The setup includes power supply, arduino, real time clock ds3231, and an 16 x 2 display. Users can set the desired time via four push buttons available on the system. The system controls the appliances to run for the specified duration and automatically turns it off once the time elapses. This design aims to be efficient, reliable, and to minimize energy wastage. Users can schedule and control operation of various home appliances, such as ovens, washing machines and coffee makers, according to user-defined intervals and timings and hence it help to enhance convenience, energy efficiency and household management.
