A Full-Space Continuous Scanning Leaky-Wave Antenna Based on Double-Layer Double-Row SSPP

In this paper, we propose a leaky-wave antenna (LWA) with full space scanning based on the double-layer doublerow spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPP). Dispersion analysis of the SSPP slow-wave TL is carried out, and the antenna operates in a single harmonic mode with -1 st order harmonics. Odd-mode feeding is excited by 180° phase-shifted balun. A full-space scanning from -90° to 90° from backfire to broadside to end-fire is realized with an average gain of around 10 dBi in the bandwidth of 8.2-12.1 GHz.
